In this unit, we discussed the importance of receptive skills. Reading and listening skills are just as important to the next when it comes to learning a new language. By focusing on reading and writing skills, one can further their ability to form sentences on their own and understand those formed by others. One can develop predictive skills by making educated deductions from choice words. Specific information can be gained by scanning for key words, a general ideas can be formed by skimming the text and gaining the list of the information, and one can also read or listen while paying great attention to detail to obtain the full understanding of the text.
