The video lessons shows not only the importance of having a structured lesson plan but also a good attitude when running a class. In the first video, the teacher showed everything that a teacher should not do. First, he was very distracting with his hand gestures and then he started off with a complex word. He should have gauged the vocabulary of the students first rather than assuming that his students already know what unnecessary or necessary means. He was also very direct and upfront when correcting a student which should not be the case. Because of the teacher's attitude in the first video, his students were distracted, confused and intimidated which made them less participative. In the second video, however, that all changed when he started by introducing himself then asked for his students' names. The teacher in the second video called his students by their first names which made a friendly atmosphere in the room compared to the first video. He also started with the Engage phase then smoothly transitioned into the Study phase then ended with the Activate phase. Throughout the class, his students were very participative especially since the teacher explained and demonstrated the instructions very well. To summarize everything, the second video is something that teachers should follow as it teaches us the best practices when it comes to running a class.
