This unit discusses how to teach various groups of students, esp. for beginners. For beginners, we need to slow down our pace and not to push students to hard. It's important for us to praise and encourage them so as to protect their interest and motivation.
For YLs, they have high curiosity and they are like sponge, which means they can learn a language quite fast. But they also have a short attention span, so teachers should make the lesson more varied, interesting and lively. Sometimes YLs may make trouble in class, so teachers should figure out why they have done this or that and give suitable solutions. For example, if it is because the students wants more attention and care, we can let them be a leader or sth. like that. If they feel bored, we should try some methods to make the class more fun, eg. making fun of the teachers ourselves.
For business English teaching, it's not only about teaching English, it's also about how to keep relationships with the people in the company. It's more complicated, but we should trust our professional knowledge and skills.
