In unit 7 we learned about vocabulary, grammar and the important functions of both. Introducing new language can be difficult and it is important to present new material in a way that is easily understood by our students. Selecting the vocabulary for your students is extremely important, we must make sure as teachers we are choosing the appropriate material for abilities of the classroom. It is important also to use teaching techniques that engage the students and do not overwhelm them. Vocabulary and grammar which shows similarities to their native language will help them better understand certain words. This unit helped me better understand the different techniques for teaching and presenting both vocabulary and grammar while also showing me the different ways to help the students practice and understand.
