Having a lesson plan is very important as it gauges what you will focus on during the class and keeps the overall structure simple and direct, however it is important to be flexible while teaching and observant as to what the students engage best with. Specific consideration should be put on flexibility, goals, revision and balance in the classroom. I found that it is also very important to monitor the quality of the lessons I would teach in order to improve as much as possible. I found the Engage, study and Activate phases of a lesson very useful and enlightening.
