Having studied other languages which led to my choice, Spanish, the importance of vocabulary cannot be understated. But I found, and feel new students of English will as well, how interesting learning vocabulary in a new language can be. It is so interesting and fun to learn how a simple word in your native language is so different in another, i.e. "broom","match", "bread" and so on. Just as importantly is learning how and when to use that word alone or in a sentence where verbs play their role. I enjoyed the way this lesson/unit introduced instructive but enjoyable and fun ways to teach vocabulary, grammar and grammatical structure which allows for a more happily engaged class.
