To effectively learn a new language, the students must go through the following stages, be exposed, understand its meaning, understand how it is constructed and practice and produce. As a teacher, it is important that I make use of activities that target each of these stages. For example, in the Engage stage, the use of pictures as it is a good visual strategy. Matching a word with definition can be used for the Study stage and debates to activate the learning. In introducing grammatical structures, the students must know how often the structures are used, their meanings and their forms and patterns.
