I need to keep building on the different activities in ESA so this was a good review of that. I also appreciated the idea that grammar is the tree trunk and branches of language and vocabulary and functions are the leaves for beauty and variety.
By the way, I hope you don't mind me saying this but I noticed on page 6 under "teaching language functions: ESA boomerang lesson" that you wrote "compare TO the language they used and analyze ways of inviting....". I don't think that you need the TO there as there isn't a subject in the sentence. It just struck me as awkward.
