In this unit I learned the common problem situations than teachers have in the classroom at some of the most common problems situations that teachers can encounter in the classroom.
In the fist lesson.- You will have such classes into two categories; the new group in this the students don't know each other and some work will be needed to establish rapport between the class members.
In the existing group.- the student are already likely to know and be confortable with each other, there are a number of activities that the teacher can use for these purposes like questionanire/survey, board game, pass the ball game.
Warmers.- They are usually short, fun, communicative activities designed to get students motivated and using English.
In a warmer ideas include such as hangman, pictionary, tongue twisters, memory games.
Different Levels.- You can use different materials, different tasks, give the stroger students longer more complicated tasks paropiate to their level, pair stronger students with weaker ones, stronger students to assist weaker students, they can help explain and clarify things.
Large Classrooms, include all students equally to classroom control you can use worksheets, pair/groups work, clariy, choral repetion, appoint group leaders,dynamic activities.
Use of native language.- In more cases the students needs to communicate something that they feel unable to express in english, make sure your explanations are clear to all class members.
Reluctant students.- Come across to students who dont seem to want to talk or participate in class, for some it may be cultural, for other intimidation or confidence issues, as a teacher you can use plenty of pair work, the student will be confidence and practice english in a safe environment.
