I have learnt the importance of structuring a lesson and making sure I have basic timing and phases of each part of the lesson. It is important to be organised, to make sure all resources needed a present and working, and that I am on time to the classroom to greet students as they enter. A lesson plan is a working document that provides a basic framework and highlights any potential problems or avenues a teacher or students could take, ahead of time, but it is also a fluid document, where changes can be added as they occur to keep an accurate record of what was covered in a lesson. Self-evaluation and reflection is a vital part of teaching any lesson, as I need to think about what has worked, what isn't working and why, and what I might change in the future.
