This unit focuses on the parts of speech that make up a sentence such as nouns, adjectives, adverbs, verbs, prepositions etc.. as well as the subgroups that belong to each parts of speech (common or proper nouns, transitive and intransitive verbs etc...) ; each word in a sentence has a specific role which brings meaning to the speech and what one is trying to communicate.
Throughout this unit I have learned the complexity of the structure of a sentence and the importance of knowing each part of speech. Indeed, this helps understand the exact meaning of a sentence and its construct, and will therefore help me in my teaching career as I will be able to explain the role of each word to the students.
