Unit 19 covers teaching different groups of students. The different groups consist mainly of beginners, false beginners and they fall into adults or young learners and those who don't use the Roman alphabet. In my teaching experience, teaching my mother tongue, I have encountered all of the above and recognize the challenges presented in the chapter as well as the less challenging situations and students. I agree that young students, children, are eager and enjoy if you are both structured and give them frequent, fun activities, praise them a lot and make sure they all get a fair chance to speak and show off their abilities. However, to some degree adults enjoy this too but can approach the learning much more seriously and have personal hesitations and preconceived ideas why it is harder for them to learn a new language. The course has taught me and given great suggestions to develop the Needs Analysis more before initiating a new adult group. It can be much easier to serve them what they are looking for if you know where they are coming from and what they need. Assigning roles is also highly efficient way of engaging everyone in the classroom, especially the more withdrawn and cautious student.
