The different future tenses are incredibly important to everyday conversation. Recognizing the differences will be tricky for students, especially recognizing the uses of future perfect and future perfect continuous. Those tenses are trickier to understand since future perfect uses past participles of the main verbs, while future perfect continuous uses the present participle. To help students in class memorize the differences, I may share a little rule that: (1) future perfect is all about the end; note the -ed in the verb. (2) future perfect continuous is all about continuing; note the -ing in the verb.
