In this unit, we talked about how to teach speaking and writing. For speaking, I learnt about the differences between fluency and accuracy activities. And most importantly, in the activate phase, we should make some corrections only after all the activities end. And we should also discern common mistakes and individual mistakes. For common mistakes, we may need to prepare more for a whole lesson to clarify them to the students.
About writing, I learnt how to encourage creative writing, which means writing isn't about how to write, it's about expressing your creative ideas, so students can also work in pairs or groups for brainstorming. In this way, we can help students to really like writing.
At last, this unit also introduced some kinds of games, which may be helpful esp. for YLs.
