This unit outlined two very important topics: 5 conditional forms and direct/reported speech. This unit goes over the 5 different conditional forms; zero conditional, first conditional, second conditional, third conditional and the mixed conditional and how to use these forms and in what situations they would be used. This unit also points out that students often confuse the first and second conditionals as well as the 3rd and mixed conditionals. I think that the teaching ideas for conditionals are helpful and contain a variety of matching cause and effect type questions with open ended, if... then... kinds of questions. The teaching ideas are relevant as well as fun. The second part of this unit describes the difference between direct speech, which is when one person is talking or saying something to another person, and indirect (reported) speech which is when one person is quoting what another person said. This guide shows when to change tense and which tenses change to what. This section also includes practice ideas and notes about how to deal with changes in time. Time changes can be really tricky and are really important.
