This unit has taught me the importance of using past tenses and why we use certain tenses for describing certain things.
We use the past simple to describe an action that started and finished at a specific time in the past. Past continuous to describe a long action in the past that started before a specific time, the long action is continuing after the specific time ''Yesterday at 8am, I was eating breakfast''. Past perfect to describe an action was completed at some point in the past before something else happened '' she passed the exam because she had studied hard''. Past perfect continuous to describe a process that began and finished in the past, before another event took place and that also finished in the past ''I had been working in the garden all morning''
