Unit 4 taught me from the very beginning that not only do teachers have to be knowledgeable about the English language but also about other languages as well. This unit said that English has 12 tenses, Asian languages have 1, and in most Slavic languages there are 3. When I think about the many differences that each language has it truly would be difficult in these languages to try and teach English as a new language using the grammar translation style.
