I have learned in this unit that regardless of the language level of students and how the teacher organizes the class, the goal is to have the students be exposed with new language, fully understand its meaning, comprehend how is constructed, know how to pronounce it in standard English and be able to practice it.
Grammar is the solid base upon which the language builds up, meaning, without that base, the student's functions and vocabulary would stumble. Thus it is appropriate to follow ESA methods ( straight arrow: for grammar or vocabulary; and boomerang or patchwork for: new function-based lessons?to teach new language.
