In this unit "Types of Class" There has been many useful ideas and information that will help me in my teaching career. When teaching different levels of beginners it is very useful to revise topics and use choral repetition as much as possible. If I'm having problems with mix level students it is a good idea to mix stronger and lower students in pairs. It's very important to always have enough material for your classes but in the event of running out it was useful to learn that revisiting and reviewing material is a good idea. When teaching, it is important to use exaggerated intonation and lots of repetition and always give positive feedback. Make sure your class room is a warm and welcoming by incorporating visual displays. These will help keep students motivated and make the learning environment a nice place to be as well as a place they can refer to for help and reminders. When teaching ESP I would have to adapt my skills accordingly to meet the needs of individuals or company's needs. when teaching business students, it's useful to know there is a wide range of resources available but trying to use material specific to the company e.g. emails, letters, company reports publicity material would be of more benefit and would be more specific to the student. Monolingual and multilingual have both got their advantages and disadvantages. Using a sound teaching plan and describing your intensions clearly and getting their support from the start, will help on achieving a more productive class.
