There are two sides in language: consuming and producing. By being able to do both, students can have conversations and express ideas with other people. Production is both speaking and writing. Production skills need both fluency, express ideas in an efficient fashion, and accuracy, express ideas in a correct manner. Both need special attention, and neither should not be neglected; lessons should be formed around giving students opportunities to work on accuracy and fluency separate or together. These activities could be drill work, pair collaboration, or group games. Games are a good idea to use here because games give students other objectives and can alleviate some stress of producing English. Production skills are some of the hardest skills to teach because the learning process involves the student being willing to make mistakes. Throughout any activity it is important as the teacher to be mindful of correcting errors only where appropriate, and not nitpick every error in a fluency exercise. Production is a very important skill and requires large amount of time dedicated to teaching it.
