This unit covers the distinct types of tests used to evaluate English learners' language competencies. Each type of test has a specific purpose and function, and teachers should know which type to use in any context, as well as how to structure and set each type for different groups of students. Thinking back to the previous unit, I feel that it is good in most cases to first vet prepared tests to ensure that they will be relevant to the students taking them (except in the case of practice tests as their purpose is to prepare students for external exams which have fixed structures and content).
