Receptive skills (reading and writing) is two out of four of the skills of language. It can be tricky to teach but by using a variety of topics, it can possibly catch the interest of the students. This unit is very good and helpful because it helps draw out ideas a modules of what a possible lesson plan can look like when focusing on strengthening the students receptive skills. By preteaching the vocabulary, but allowing som to follow through for context clues, it will help a student grow in the skill of understanding when listening and reading.
