This unit introduces different types of materials used for teaching in the classroom and lists pros and cons for each. Some of the items listed seem to be a bit outdated such as cassette recorders and overhead projectors although they can still be very useful. I think that it is important to note, as in the case with the interactive white board and other types of higher technology that the technology should not distract from the lesson. Teachers should learn how to use the equipment before the lesson time so that they can become familiar with using it and not take away from the lesson time. It is also useful to realize which of the teaching equipment is used primarily by the teacher for student observation or more interactive use by the students. I think a well run class would utilize several of the equipment items from the list.
