This topic is a similarly interesting one to that of the last unit. I have often found that English schools, where I have taught, either focus on speaking or writing. In both cases the skill not being focused on lacks. Students who learn to write well, often do not have well-developed speaking skills and the opposite is true for students who focus primarily on speaking.
It would be helpful to come up with lessons that incorporated both skills together to help with equal development. Having been educated heavily in writing myself, I often use language not regularly spoken by others. I guess in the end it depends on the reason for a person learning English as to which side they will learn more.
