This unit is about the two productive skills: speaking and writing. What stood out to me the most were the differing yet complementary concepts of accuracy and fluency-based activities. Both are needed in good measure in order to effectively promote language knowledge. Since speaking is arguably the most challenging skill to develop, it is important that students of a second language are constantly exposed to a comfortable yet motivating learning atmosphere. To achieve this, lessons need to be both interesting and enjoyable, which is why the use of games is highly productive.
