This unit discussed the many different elements that go into effective class management. Much thought and detail need to go into this due to the general diversity of class structures. The content of the unit further grounded my belief that balance and awareness are crucial in managing a class. It is one thing to have the desire to use a combination of class management methods, but another to have the knowledge and skills to execute them efficiently. For me, doing so starts with learning various techniques (like through this unit) and, after establishing a solid foundation, experimenting with them in the classroom setting. Getting to know your students is a process, so improvisation is bound to happen (and should resurface every now and then). With time and effort, things should flow smoothly.
