This unit examined the different types of class equipment and teaching aids in the context of an ESL lesson. The tools in question were both traditional and modern, from books to computers and online resources. The unit also provided a long list of recommended websites to refer to for lesson planning, which I greatly appreciated. As both the availability of resources varies between teachers and students, I prefer to keep my personal tools as simple and consistent as possible. A board and at least one textbook are definite mainstays on my list. As we live in a technological age, I try to maximize the use of computers as and when available. However, in a class where not everyone has access to a device, I think relying on printouts, visual aids and any other resources that can be shared will keep things even and effective.
