In this unit the emphasis is on why we plan a lesson, how it’s done and breaking done the parts of the lesson considering what the learner objectives are, what the teacher objectives are, what learning problems we anticipate and what teacher problems we anticipate and what solutions we have for both. There are suggestions and examples on how to do a lesson plan. Additionally it’s important to break down a lesson on for example a 45 min lesson in time segments allowing a certain amount of time for each activity. This helps the teacher keep track and be aware of the time allotted for each phase of learning. The lesson plan should contain data such as teacher name, type of class, the level of the class and the subject matter as well as the date and time.
