There are many methods teachers can use in the EFL classroom. The Engage, Study, Activate method will work well in most situations and is appropriate for all levels. In the engage stage, the goal is to get all students speaking in English. We can do this with games or warm-up activities. In the study stage, teachers will use a variety of methods to elicit language from learners. Correction is appropriate at this stage, but should be done carefully considering the student’s pride and culture. In the activate stage, teachers will encourage students to use new knowledge, as well as precious knowledge, in a communicative activity.
