In this unit we will look at different ways of evaluating student's levels, progress and as well external exams that you may need to prepare the students for.
There are a number of ways to assess a student's language level:
TUTORIALS: these can take place wiht the wide group or with individual students.
Evaluation by the students.- They can be asked whether they feel that they are getting, if the balance of skills work in right.
Tests.- It is a periodic progresss test on the work covered, these tests may be every week, month, or mybe at the end of the period.
Placement Test.- most schools conduct this type of testing by multiple choice questions to check the knowlegd of the student. Is used to grade students’ language levels prior to commencing an EFL course.
Progress Test.- shold be used periodically to gave what language has been remembered or acquired and what has been forgotten, it is a balance of all the skills.
Diagnostic Tests.- Are similar in content to placement tests, and are sometimes more extensive to see what the students already know.
Practice tests.- Should follow the format and the structure of the external examination, here he have a lot of tests like that in American English and Cambridge. an example of it is: Toefl, Ielts, Ket, Pet, FCE, CAE,CPE etc.
