Some tips for effectively teaching listening and reading skills are: pre-teaching vocabulary (but balancing it with letting students learn how to understand texts without knowing every word), carefully select texts/audio (mix of authentic and non-authentic texts), select topics based on students’ interest, create interest by using effective engage stage activities, and use tasks to practice comprehension.
