This unit discusses how to effectively teach the two receptive skills: reading and listening. Based on what I read, I believe that the key to successful receptive skill development begins with gaining and maintaining interest. The real value of a text or dialogue for a lesson lies in not just its utility, but its relevance and relatability. For this, I think it would be helpful to ask for suggestions from the students on what to read and listen to every week.
