In unit 9 we cover lesson planning and it's most important functions to ensure everything goes smoothly during the lesson's created. Important functions include noting an expectation for the end of the lesson, having a plan to refer to so you can stay on target, and keeping a record of past and future lesson plans. It is important to have a general sense of what will be covered during your lessons ahead of time. While some more experienced teachers may just jot down a few notes, it is a good idea for new teachers to be more organized with a lesson plan. We learned there are certain things to keep in mind when creating a lesson plan such as what you hope your students accomplish by the end of the lesson, how you can improve as a teacher, anticipated problems, class size, etc. We also learned the importance of flexibility within your planning. While it is great to have a plan, things don't always go according to that plan, so being flexible and anticipating possible changes will help maintain a smooth lesson.
