In Unit 14 we learned about the use of Course Books and their best use. We learned about the importance of varied lesson materials to keep the students interested. There are two types of lesson materials; authentic and created. Both should be used within a lesson plan to keep the lessons from becoming boring or predictable. Authentic materials are factual and create more structure to a syllabus while created materials are able to adapt to the different abilities and interests of a group of students. Teachers should analyze the available course material ahead of time to be able to adapt to their students' needs.
