From this unit I have learnt the importance of not solely relying on course books, however being able to rely on them for a tried and tested syllabus is an advantage as well as providing a balanced mix of grammar and vocabulary. As a new teacher it will help me produce and structure my classes. By using course books as a guide and incorporating authentic and created material into my classes when I can, will help gain confidence, interest and keep students motivated. Selecting course books or knowing the importance of how and when to use them is extremely relevant. Books need to be analyzed and certain factors considered as stated in the unit, by keeping this in mind and checking my books for suitable topics, design, syllabus and difficulty will keep my classes exciting and relevant.
