I consider myself to be well read and a good English writer. However, learning the mechanics and components of the English language is more challenging than I originally had expected. To properly studying this unit, I had to review it multiple times, reflect on the material and take breaks at times when my brain was fatigued.
Being a native English speaker, I take for granted the use of the English language. This unit has clarified the importance of understanding the specific rules and components of the English language so I can be more effective and have more tools as an English teacher for non-native English speaking people.
