In this unit we learned the importance of pronunciation and phonology, its applications and how people forms sounds to create words. We learned how and why to apply different intonations depending on the sentence. We learned how to properly apply stress to different words within a sentence to change the meaning and emphasis of a sentence. Some useful techniques for teaching intonation include nonsense words, gesture, humming and speaking aloud. This unit began to explain why certain people may struggle or find it easy to pronounce different words as well.
