Unit six relates to the past tense and the systems and structures implicated in the use of the tense. The structure is not too dissimilar to that of the present tense and demonstrated in unit four. The use of past tense features the use of the verbs 'to have' or 'to be' in some form and there are certain patterns that feature with relation to identifying when and how to use them. The unit also highlights the common mistakes associated with the different past tense uses.
