In this unit I learned that expressing the future is one of the more complicated aspects of the English language. These are the seven most common ways to do so: the future simple, the future continuous, the future perfect, the future perfect continuous, be going + infinitive, the present simple, and the present continuous. The most interesting part of this unit for me was the discussion of the future simple and be going + infinitive. Personally, I had never realized that there was a difference between those two forms before. In this chapter I learned that one difference is that be going + infinitive is used for predictions based on evidence.
