When teaching a classroom of students, I will have to understand each students level of understanding to know which ESA structure to employ for lessons. The Patchwork ESA structure would be my top choice, since it allows me to vary the the materials, exercises and group activities during a lesson. I believe the Patchwork ESA structure is perfect for when I have to teach students past tenses. They will need a sufficient amount of time to study the tenses, as well as activate and finally engage with the past tenses. Example sentences, story building and news articles would be part of a Patchwork ESA structure for a lesson teaching past tenses.
