In unit 16, I learned about conditions and reported speech. Conditionals are used to consider about what could happen, what might have happened, and what we hope would happen. These sentences are composed of an ‘if’ clause and a main clause. The condition in the ‘if’ clause must be fulfilled before the main clause can be achieved.
Direct speech is a representation of the exact words spoken. When the direct speech is re-told, it becomes reported (or indirect) speech. Reported speech is usually used to discuss the past, so the verb tense used in the direct speech needs to be converted.
