As far as the content of this unit is concerned, it dealt with different roles, responsibilities, as well as virtues of teachers and learners. Since there are various roles a teacher has to be able to have, they were listed and explained in detail (be it the role of a manager, organizer, tutor, assessor, model, prompter, monitor, participant and facilitator), with special emphasis on the fact that it is important for the teacher to be capable of switching in between them at the right time. As for the students, the unit provided a description of a good learner (e.g. motivation, willingness to learn, ability to accept error correction, desire to learn). Moreover, several factors that affect the learning process have been listed (age in particular, cultural background, language level and motivation). Furthermore, distinctions between different English levels were provided with thorough descriptions (beginners, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper-intermediate, advanced).
More than anything else, this unit made me realize how important the relationship between a teacher and their students is and that it is crucial to take into account not only the students' age but also their cultural background and previous language learning experience.
