This unit explained how pronunciation is a difficult and expansive subject to consider with language learners but extremely essential since leaners do want to sound as native as possible. It will be a challenge as a teacher because, as native speakers, we do not have to consider how we make the sounds that we do or why. Much thought will need to go into a lesson so that you can help a student determine how to effectively make sounds that match English words. Using the Phonemic alphabet is a good way to do this. However, you will also have to help a student understand the manner of articulation and the place of articulation. It seems to me that teaching these things would take many lessons over a course of time.
