The present tenses taught in this lesson were as follows: Present Simple, Present Continuous (otherwise known as present progressive), Present Perfect and Present Perfect Continuous. Learning the usages for each of these verb tenses may prove difficult for someone learning English as a foreign language but there are some rules to be followed (and exceptions, of course). A teacher must take note of common errors, which have been shared in this unit, so that the learners can make adjustments and use proper forms to structure their thoughts. A variety of engaging activities can be used to help the students experiment, including games like "Find someone who..." and "Guess my profession". I believe the activity to change the room and have the students who were temporarily dismissed describe the changes that had been made would be a valuable object lesson to implement Present Perfect verb tense. An understanding of these verb tenses will help a learner to have clear, easily understood speech and is therefore vital for their progress in the English language.
