In this unit, I have learned about the areas of stress, rhythm, intonation, as well as the International Phonetic Alphabet. In intonation, it is the variation of volume and pitch in a whole sentence,while stress is concerned about the individual words. Intonation is important because it gives message in a sentence as it shows the emotion of the speaker. In stress, it shows what does the speaker really means from the sentence he/she conveys.Each areas of phonology has techniques on how to teach effectively which is very helpful for the teachers.
