In unit 13, I learned about pronunciation and phonology. For most students, pronunciation is usually the most difficult aspect of learning English. Learning to speak English correctly is more intricate than just the correct pronunciation of individual words. Stressing different words in a sentence can change the meaning of that sentence. Intonation is also involved to indicate the message of the speaker.
Teachers need to know that most students will not be able to speak as well as native English speakers. It is better to help students achieve their realistic goals than request perfection from them.
