Unit number 5 deals with classroom management. It focuses on the importance of eye contact, gestures and the teacher’s voice in the classroom and how all of these can be varied to achieve different results and responses from the students. Later on, the unit explains the importance of variation in the grouping of students (different groupings can benefit different activities and stages of the lesson). Moreover, the arrangement of the classroom, as well as the teacher’s position and how it can influence dynamic in the class has been explained as well. Last but not least, the best way to write on the board has been dealt with as well, together with ideas on how to establish a rapport between the teacher and their students and among students themselves. The end of the unit dealt with maintaining discipline and respect. All in all, this unit has been very informative and full of ideas on how to manage and arrange a classroom so as to achieve balance between relaxed but focused environment.
