In this unit the content is based on productive language skills- writing and speaking. These skills are basis of communication of language. though many student focus on speaking skill but writing has its own importance and is one of the difficult skill as it requires more accuracy where as speaking need greater amount of fluency. Many teachers divide the activities and stages of lesson according to improve accuracy and fluency. Accuracy activities are concentrated upon producing the correct language and also the output is controlled by the teacher. Fluency activities are more for creating and experimenting with language and output language is not controlled by the teacher. Though they are connected to each other as accuracy activity will make sure that student understands the concept and usage of language in a controlled manner and produces correct language while experimenting in fluency activity. There are many ways to encourage students to speak and build their confidence such as pair-work & group-work, discussions, careful planning before activity in the class and giving proper time to think on any given topic, proper controlled practice for the accurate output.
Writing skill has so many factors associated with it such as spellings, punctuation, layout, grammar, and handwriting. These factors are need to well understood for a better piece of written English.
