The unit provided explanation regarding lesson planning. Lesson planning is a good way to provide guidance to the teacher inside the classroom. However, teachers also need to understand that they need to be flexible, and adapt to the class. A lesson plan serves as a guide, and should be adjustable and flexible to developments inside the class, and a teacher should not cling too rigidly to his / her lesson plan. A lesson plan also serves as a record, and will be useful in providing information regarding what the class have done, and how the class have developed during the course of the semester. There are several factors that needs to be considered when writing a lesson plan, including what you want your students to achieve by the end of the lesson, what improvements you can make on your own method or way of teaching, the materials you may need for the lesson, the ESA stages, time allocation for each stage of the lesson, activities that you want to use in the lesson, date and time of the lesson or class session, and others.
