This unit gives an overview of the planning process. The unit talks about some of the pros and cons of a thorough plan. Teachers, especially inexperienced ones, are encouraged to have a written lesson plan. However, it is also recommended that the plan be flexible due to teaching inadequacies, student preferences. The plan must also take into account that students may be tardy and even absent at times. The teacher should have activities, goals, and testing scheduled in advance, but must be flexible when needed and possible.
